Corovan History
Having earned California’s trust for over 60 years, Corovan has stood for a few core beliefs across each of the services it provides. It is not unusual for our monthly employee anniversary emails to include a few folks that has served over twenty years, and a couple each quarter celebrating their thirty-something years of helping Corovan deliver on its promise of fair, affordable, and trustworthy performance. Beyond all else, we value our reputation within the communities in which we live and work.
Corovan started on Coronado Island in 1947 as a moving and storage company. During the 70’s, the company added office moving services for its clients, moving boxes, desks, and equipment. As information technology and specialized equipment erupted onto the scene in California, Corovan stood head and shoulders above the ordinary movers with its know-how and ingenuity.
In the 1980’s, Corovan recognized a need for off-site, organized, inventoried and ultra-secure storage of business records separate from standard warehousing, Corovan devoted considerable amounts of dedicated warehouse space and abundant technology to this effort. Since then, the growth measured in terms of volume of boxes, employee count, vehicles, technology and much more is truly staggering and a nice way to judge how well we are meeting demand.
As a complement to the Records Storage segment of the market, Corovan added a shredding service late in the 1990’s as well as dedicated, climate control rooms and service professionals. We offer great value in these areas and are focused on delivering premium levels of service and support without breaking your bank. We can afford to add these auxiliary services to the menu without burdening each department with a full overhead expense that a sole service provider would have
